Victory never tasted so disturbing.
On Thursday, Shane Beamer took a bucket of mayonnaise to the head like a champ after coaching South Carolina to a 38-21 victory over their rival North Carolina in Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
Shane Beamer gets drenched in mayo TwitterAfter the Gamecocks’ trophy ceremony at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, Beamer let the bowl sponsors dump four-and-a-half gallons of slightly watered-down mayo on his head.
Loud cheers erupted from players and the crowd surrounding Beamer, who sat in a chair on a yellow tarp.
“I don’t think I’m going to wear these any time soon,” Beamer said afterward, joking about his clothes.

“Anything for a Bowl victory and charity,” Beamer said.
At the time, Beamer said he’s “not a big mayonnaise guy” but would “gladly take one for the team on that one if it means we won a football game. But woof.”
