In this summer’s Saratoga Showdown, The Post’s pony pickers, John DaSilva, Ed Fountaine, Vic Cangialosi and Anthony Affrunti, square off every day of the meet.

Each starts with a bankroll of $2,000, with a maximum bet of $50 per day. May the best bettor win!

JOHN DaSILVA

TODAY’S PLAY: In the second race, Chifa drops in class and stretches out while getting Rosario to ride for local debut. Play a $20 quinella part wheel of Chifa with Go the Distance and No More Fives. Then play a $10 quinella Chifa with Should Make It.

Total bet: $50.

YESTERDAY’S RESULTS: Key horse D’Tiger was disappointing and we didn’t use the winner Black Ace with anything. Loss of $50.

BANKROLL: $1,802.00

VIC CANGIALOSI

TODAY’S PLAY: How about $30 to win on Chifa in the second. In Race 5, play The Thinker in $10 doubles with both Button Girl and Revenue in the sixth. Total bet: $50.

YESTERDAY’S RESULTS: Not much going on as both He Ain’t Bluffing and Curve Ball scratched out of Race 3. After the $40 went back in our pocket Gold Love was our only live play. He led to the top of the stretch but faded badly. Lost only $10.

BANKROLL: $1,704.

ED FOUNTAINE

TODAY’S PLAY: In the fifth race, $12 win on Ampersand; $6 double with Button Girl in the sixth; $12 win on Button Girl; in the eighth race, $20 win on Silver Timber. Total bet: $50.

YESTERDAY’S RESULTS: Odds-on Lunar Victory ($50 win) was much the best paying $3.80. Won $45.

BANKROLL: $1,936.10

ANTHONY AFFRUNTI

TODAY’S PLAY: Wasn’t sure where to head for a play on this card, but settled on a $10 exacta box in the third using Professor Fate and Reserved Quality. In the fourth, we’re going to try to beat the favorite here with Carrot Thief and play $30 to win and hope for the best. Total bet: $50.

YESTERDAY’S RESULTS: Had all day to wait for the nightcap and it wasn’t worth the wait as 10-1 Miss Ruud had a shot in the stretch but faded late. Lost $50.

BANKROLL: $1,914.10.
