Post handicappers John DaSilva, Ed Fountaine and Vic Cangialosi challenge former champion steeplechase jockey, OTB backstretch insider and co-publisher of the Saratoga Special, Sean Clancy, as they battle for bragging rights during the six-week summer showcase meeting at Saratoga. Each handicapper will be given an imaginary $1,800 bankroll and be held to a limit of $50 in wagers daily.

TODAY’S PLAYS: In the first race, play a $10 exacta box Eddie C. and Half a Note. Then play a $5 double part wheel of Eddie C. and Half a Note with Syriana’s Song, Armonk and Smokin Stephanie. Total bet: $50.

MONDAY’S RESULTS: Had the right idea but we still lost both of our bets when we ran first and third in both races. Lost $50.

ED FOUNTAINE

TODAY’S PLAYS: In the fourth race, $20 to win, $10 place on Desafinado. In the seventh, $20 to win on Lemon Drop Gal. Total bet: $50.

MONDAY’S RESULTS: In seventh race, caught $10 exacta part-wheel with War Monger over Mister White Socks. But the exacta came back a lot lighter then we hoped at $14.60 Won $25.

BANKROLL: $1,554.00

VIC CANGIALOSI

TODAY’S PLAYS: Play $10 on Staid to finally win in the fourth. Then Chief’s Lake carries top weight in the Albany but it will not stop him from his third straight win. A pair of $20 doubles with both The Ag and One in a Romp in the ninth. Total bet: $50.

MONDAY’S RESULTS: Good day could have been better when Stormy Catch missed by head but cashed our across the board bet ($33.50). Stand Pat brought us back another $61 as he won his debut. Profit of $44.50.

BANKROLL: $2,207.25.

SEAN CLANCY

TODAY’S PLAYS: Wait for the last and then start fishing; bet $10 exacta One in a Romp over Nuclear Meltdown and $5 exactas One in a Romp over The Ag and Dance for Fashion. Bet $2 exactas Nuclear Meltdown over One in a Romp and The Ag. Bet $1 triple box One in a Romp, Nuclear Meltdown and Dance For Fashion. Bet $10 triple, key One in a Romp over The Ag and Nuclear Meltdown. Total bet: $50.

MONDAY’S RESULTS: Forza Bruta’s running line looked more like a ’60s sofa-check, check, check. Lost $50.
