Smush back with Heat

Former Fordham star Smush Parker rejoined the Miami Heat today, about a month after his confrontation with a female valet parking attendant.
Parker had been placed on the inactive list, and it isnât clear if the point guard will play for the team again. He earns about $27,000 a game and has been paid during his absence. He was expected to miss his 17th straight game tonight when Miami plays host to Orlando. âItâs time to reassess that whole thing,â coach Pat Riley said. âBut it isnât today.â
Parker was not available for comment after Miamiâs shootaround.
Nov. 27, Parker was leaving a condo a few blocks from the arena and asked for his car. He told attendants he paid the $12 valet fee, plus tip, the night before.
Those at the valet stand in the morning had no record of payment. An argument ensued, Parker missed that nightâs game against Charlotte, and he has remained inactive since.
Under league rules, a team essentially can put players on the inactive list for any reason. The Heat have 15 players on the roster; 12 may be in uniform for each game.
Parker has a $2.4 million player option for next season.
