Aqueduct has canceled racing today and tomorrow in anticipation of the approaching blizzard. The track will reopen Monday with a New Year’s Day card headlined by a pair of stakes, the Interborough Handicap and Gallant Fox ‘Cap, which was originally scheduled for today. All patrons will receive a free NYRA 2001 calendar, complete with stakes schedule, while supplies last.

Freehold Raceway and The Meadowlands also canceled their cards for today.

Aqueduct will be dark Tuesday but will resume live racing Wednesday, when there will be free parking and admission. Simulcasting also will be available on the opening-day card of the Gulfstream Park meet.

Entries for Monday will be taken tomorrow, with Wednesday’s and Thursday’s cards drawn Monday.
