Algeria 3 - 3 Austria
What a World Cup classic in Kansas!
Six goals are shared as Algeria and Austria play to a thrilling draw.
Marko Arnautovic put Austria ahead in the 28th minute, chasing down a long ball from Alaba and slotting it past Benbot.
Algeria hit the post with Chaibi just before the break, then found the equalizer five minutes later.
Mwene was caught out by a long pass near the corner flag, tumbling with Mahrez.
Belghali took over, darting down the right byline, cutting inside, and powering a shot past Schlager at his near post.
Marcel Sabitzer pushed Das Team back in front in the 55th minute, dispatching a fine ball from Laimer.
But five minutes later, Mahrez slotted home after tenacious work from Aouar on the left, pegging them back again.
Algeria dominated possession late, and Aouar's eyes lit up in stoppage time as Mahrez burst into space.
Aouar drove the ball back across and into the bottom left, seemingly giving the Fennecs all three points.
But in the post-goal jubilation, the towering Kalajdzic entered the fray, needing just one touch to head in a well-delivered cross from Gregoritsch.
Both sides outplayed their xGs in a truly brilliant encounter.
Austria now faces Spain in the next round, while Algeria gets ready for Switzerland, the team their manager Vladimir Petkovic coached.
What a game!
