It’s Day 3 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and another MLS team is in action today.
LAFC was the last team to qualify for the Club World Cup, the result of a play-in game in late May to replace a disqualified team. The Los Angeles-based team are also the current defending U.S. Open Cup champions.
They’ll face Chelsea from the English Premier League in today’s group stage game. Currently defending a UEFA Conference League title with one of the most expensive rosters in the world, Chelsea is also a former Club World Cup champion (2021) and qualified for this year’s tournament as the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League winners.
