Netherlands’ midfielder Wout Weghorst (L) celebrates after scoring game-tying goal vs. Argentina. APInstead of challenging Argentina goalie Emiliano Martínez at the net, Koopmeiners opted to pass the ball forward, where Wout Weghorst found the back of the net, tying the game at two, and sending the into extra time.
The euphoria was short-lived, however, with Argentina eventually winning on penalty kicks, 4-3.
