Uzbekistan 1 - 3 Colombia
Colombia kicks off their World Cup finals return with a 3-1 victory over tournament debutants Uzbekistan, soaring to the top of Group K.
Los Cafeteros dominated much of the first half, with Arias firing wide and Diaz hitting the post before they took the lead in the 40th minute.
Diaz delivered a lovely ball into the box, and Munoz swiveled to volley it into the net.
Uzbekistan failed to register a single touch in the opposing box during the first half.
However, they equalized against the run of play on the hour mark when Fayzullaev headed into an empty net after Shomurodov's initial volley was blocked.
Colombia regained their lead just five minutes later, as Diaz finished a swift counter with a shot that crept past Yusupov, whose weak palm couldn't keep it out.
Lorenzo's side sealed the contest deep into stoppage time when Hernandez's wonderful cross was powered home by the head of fellow substitute Campaz.
Colombia carries momentum into their second Group K game against DR Congo on June 23, while Uzbekistan needs drastic improvement before facing Portugal on the same day.
That's all for now.
Thanks for your company.
Until next time, goodbye!
