Despite his insistences to the contrary, sources continue to say that Rice’s Curtis Kelly may transfer to Oak Hill (Va.) in the fall.

Last week, the 6-9 Kelly acknowledged that he considered making the move prior to his upcoming senior season, especially after a disappointing playoff performance that saw the Raiders lose to Xaverian in the CHSAA city final and then St. Mary’s in the state semifinal.

“I shouldn’t have even thought about it,” Kelly said last week. “But I was just frustrated. It was me being a selfish person and not thinking I was getting the ball enough.”

One reason it seems Kelly could stay at the Harlem school is his genuine desire to win a title there.

“I know this is the best place for me,” said Kelly, played in last week’s Wheelchair Classic, a charity game at Christ the King. “Leaving wouldn’t have been loyal to my teammates or loyal to [coach] Mo [Hicks].”
