Unai Simon is going to want this one back.

During the first half of Spain’s Euro 2020 knockout stage match against Croatia, Spanish midfielder Pedri passed the ball back towards Simon. The goalkeeper, who attempted to field the ball with his right foot, seemed to be in position to make the easy play.

Yet Simon was unable to trap it cleanly, allowing the ball to glance off his foot and trickle beyond him – ultimately heading into the net for the game’s first goal.

Simon’s mishap placed Spain in an early 1-0 hole and gave Croatia the leg-up in a pivotal game, with the winner moving on and the loser eliminated from the tournament.

Just last week, Spain benefited from a similar blunder when Slovakia goalie Martin Dubravka punched the ball directly into his own goal, allowing Spain to take the 1-0 lead.
