This was lost amid an otherwise hilarious exchange the other day between Aaron Boone and the lads at Jomboy Media. What we mainly heard, over and over, was an agitated Boone who sounded and looked as angry as Sonny Corleone once he saw how Carlo had rearranged his sister’s face. 

“Stop with the reaction of how a guy answers a frickin’ question!” was one Boone lament before he characterized most of those questions as “pestering, bantering, leading questions.” 

Good stuff. 

But it was something else he said in that conversation that isn’t just 100 percent accurate, but helps to illustrate the growing credibility gap between Boone and a mounting percentage of Yankees fans who’ve wearied of watching the Yankees play an awful lot of sloppy baseball the last month and a half.
