Irish rockers U2 went home in the middle of a show in Berlin after Bono lost his voice. Stitches lost his voice as well as his mind after watching the Phillies flop in Miami on Wednesday, but this show, sadly, must go on. Fell asleep watching the Kavanaugh hearings, a show that went on an on and on. Woke up refreshed, got my voice back and decided to play two on Friday.

Phillies owe us one. Aaron Nola is 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA against the Mets this year. Steven Matz has come on strong. He has allowed two runs over past two starts with a strikeout-walk ratio of 18-2. Good matchup, but we’re in for 20 units on Philly.

Strong pairing in Boston as well. Astros are at Fenway. Gerrit Cole, 3-0 in his past four, has registered 243 Ks this season, seventh in Astros’ history. Sox’s David Price returns from the DL after missing a turn because of an injury to his pitching wrist. 10 units on the ‘Stros.

Sooo … Padres beat the Reds 6-2 extending our skid. Luis Castillo rocked for five runs, three homers. Good news: we watched the NFL instead. Now at -1,181 borbons.
