The spectacle that was Blood & Guts begged a simple question.

Should AEW’s signature Dynamite turn into a pay-per-view?

It’s very easy to say yes, given the blood, violence and superb storytelling we saw across the two double-ringed cage matches on Wednesday. It sure felt like a pay-per-view when you add in the excellent Falls Count Anywhere match between AEW Men’s World champion “Hangman” Adam Page and Powerhouse Hobbs. 

But I honestly would have been good with one more match and a three-hour show. The two-and-a-half hours seemed to fly by. It felt hard to fathom we were getting this spectacle on free TV when, later this month, WWE will roll out its more sanitized WarGames version at Survivor Series as a premium live event. They have a high bar to meet. (Darby Allin got thrown off the stage onto a flaming table.)
