The presumption is that there’s a large gap from expected No. 1 overall draft pick Fernando Mendoza and the rest of the quarterback class.
The question is: How wide is the gap?
Ty Simpson from Alabama is presumed to be the next-best quarterback in the crop after Mendoza, the Heisman Trophy winner and national champion with Indiana.
But the questions Simpson carries with him are plentiful, beginning with inexperience and including his size (6-foot-1, 211 pounds), which is not ideal by NFL standards.
