NET NOTES

One down, one to go.

While Jason Kidd was still questionable to return last night, the Nets were set to welcome back Richard Jefferson. The second-year small forward had missed the last two games with a stomach virus.

“I just rested, stayed in bed for a couple of days and I feel a lot better now,” he said.

Jefferson started feeling sick Friday morning but still figured on playing that night against the Hornets. He even packed a bag and brought it to the Meadowlands for the flight to Detroit afterward.

Then, right before the New Orleans tip-off, Jefferson took a turn for the worse.

“It just peaked right before gametime and I couldn’t move,” he said. “I didn’t think I would have been any good if I was out there. I would have probably gotten some other people sick and that would have been real bad.”

Jefferson’s still not sure what caused the virus.

Byron Scott said he wanted Kidd to be “110 percent” before he’d allow him to return. Is Kidd there yet?

“Still a little banged up,” Kidd said. “We’ll say 100 percent. Still have that 10 percent to work on.”

Scott on Kenyon Martin’s dynamic play of late: “One word: awesome. He’s just been awesome the last 20 games.”

The Nets confirmed that Rodney Rogers (strained left calf) won’t be activated before the All-Star break. Rogers has missed the last nine games.
