Former Manchester United star Bastian Schweinsteiger and his wife, former World No. 1 tennis player Ana Ivanović, are the subject of separation rumors, according to German newspaper BILD.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2016 and have three sons together, are said to be having a difficult time dealing with long distance.

Schweinsteiger, 40, is currently in Jakarta, while Ivanović, 37, lives primarily in Belgrade in her home country of Serbia with their children, according to the report.

The couple has yet to publicly address the reports, and his management team told the outlet that Schweinsteiger and Ivanović do not discuss private matters.

The former German World Cup winner and Ivanović, who won the 2008 French Open, have only made rare public appearances together this year.

Their last social media post came when they visited a holiday market in Vienna last November.

Schweinsteiger announced his retirement from playing in 2019 and has since worked as a pundit on German television.
