Angel Reese didn’t forget.
The Chicago Sky star, who recently wrapped up her career at LSU and was picked No. 7 in the WNBA draft in April, sent a pointed message to those who questioned her during her time at LSU.
“So now what? what was said? oh okay that’s what i thought,” Reese captioned a series of photos she posted on Instagram and X of her in a graduation cap. “I graduated from THE LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY IN 4 YEARS ON TIME. i thought somebody without a college degree said sum.”

When Reese was shockingly benched early in LSU’s season in November, which head coach Kim Mulkey explained as a “coach’s decision,” Reese’s mother, Angel Webb Reese, began a back-and-forth with Johnson’s mother, Kia Brooks, on Instagram.
“Folks pls do not send me long text msgs with a bunch of grammatical errors it gives me a headache,” Webb Reese wrote in an Instagram story.

Brooks then fired back, appearing to call out Reese’s academics.
“You definitely know about grammar errors when your daughter got a 2.0 or less GPA,” Brooks wrote in an Instagram story. “And in fact when writing your smart message you didn’t capitalize nor did you use any periods.
“Stop being petty, fake and hateful. And take responsibility for you and your daughters actions. Your just as responsible you raised her that way. Nobody give a damn who you think you are since you came up off another’s brand.
“Just like God gave it to you he will take right away. Always stay humble and never forget who made you and where you came from!!”

Angel Reese was the drafted with the No. 7 pick in the WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky. APIn addition to posting her graduation pictures on Saturday, Reese re-shared a post on X from Nov. 19 that referenced the argument between Webb Reese and Brooks.
“LSU star basketball player Angel Reese has been suspended…it’s being alleged that’s it due to a low GPA,” the post from the Daily Loud said. “The speculation began when Angel Reese’s mom and her teammate Flau’jae’s mom started reportedly beefing on social media.”
On her Instagram story, Reese also shared a social media comment her mom made, captioning it: “My momma said what she said.”
“For the most part I think I did a good job in ignoring the naysayers when it comes to my children so y’all can keep listening to those folks who do not even know what GPA even stands for let alone have not sniffed a GPA since high school,” Webb Reese wrote. “I hv a college degree as well as my exhusband (my kids father for yall nosy folks) so yeah we both set an example in that regard. Now y’all can find something else to talk about.”

“Everybody can have their opinion on Angel Reese, but y’all don’t know her,” Johnson said. “Y’all don’t know Angel Reese. I know Angel Reese. I know the real Angel Reese and the person I see every day is a strong person, is a caring, loving person.”
Regardless, Reese is now a college graduate and ready for WNBA stardom.
