Islanders center Dave Scatchard will be out one week with a broken left foot. Scatchard sustained the injury skating on his own last Thursday on Long Island before camp even started.

Last season, Scatchard was one of few bright spots on the team, scoring 21 goals and 45 points in his second year with the club.

Scatchard was acquired from the Canucks as part of the deal that sent Felix Potvin to Vancouver early in the 1999-00 season. Despite playing just 44 games that season, Scatchard was fifth on the Islanders in goals (12) and points (26).

The third center on the roster behind Alexei Yashin and Michael Peca, Scatchard practiced all week, though he was seen walking around the Olympic complex with a limp in his step.
