Tyler Iaucone had a game-high 28 points, including a jumper with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Conroy Baltimore had 10 points and Austin Taps added eight for Stepinac (12-8, 7-5), which lost to archrival Iona Prep Friday night in New Rochelle.
Cardinal Hayes, which improves to 15-4, 9-1 A-North, hosts undefeated Mount St. Michael Tuesday afternoon.
No. 8 Mount St. Michael 65, Poly Prep 48: Peter Aguilar had 26 points, Malik Gill and Anthony Maestre had 11 points apiece and Omari Manhertz added 10 points and 10 rebounds to lift Mount St. Michael (20-0) at Manhattan College Saturday night. Alex Buford had 14 points for Poly Prep (12-2).
Fordham Prep 55, St. Edmund Prep 51: Tom Whelan had 19 points to lead Fordham Prep (15-3, 7-3 A-Central) Saturday afternoon, while David Louison had 21 points for St. Edmund Prep (12-9, 8-6 A-South).
Salesian 78, Nazareth 74 (OT): Jason Alleyne had 30 points and 17 rebounds and Mike Cacciato added 17 points for Salesian (12-5, 8-0 ‘B’) Saturday afternoon. Nazareth fell to 13-7, 7-1.
Gorton 49, Cardinal Spellman 47: Anthony Williams had a team-high 12 points and Omari Holley added 10 for Cardinal Spellman (5-10) in a non-league game Saturday afternoon.
Sacred Heart 61, St. Agnes 55: Terry Larrier and D’Andre McPhatter scored 16 points apiece and Matt Balaj netted 10 to lead Sacred Heart (12-8, 7-2 ‘B’) Saturday. Hawkins had a game-high 18 points for St. Agnes (4-12, 3-5).
Bishop Ford 79, LaSalle Academy 47: Arend Augustus had 24 points and Eric Kippins added 20 for Bishop Ford (7-9, 5-5 A-South), while Brown had 23 for LaSalle (2-12, 0-11) Friday in Brooklyn.
Collegiate 52, Dalton 43: Ryan Frankel scored 23 points, Connor Huff grabbed 10 rebounds and Henry Lowe and Michael Salik each added 10 points apiece for the Dutchmen, who closed on a 10-0 run, in the Ivy Prep League. Collegiate is now 14-4 overall and 8-0 in league while Dalton falls to 12-5 and 3-5.
Graphic Communications 57, New Dorp 44: Ricardo Ayuso scored 14 points and Quay Shaun Mitchell and Grady King each added 12 for Manhattan A Northwest champion Graphic Communications (17-1) in the PSAL Class A Showcase at Long Island City. Ishad Tull paced New Dorp (11-15) with 12 points.
Grand Street Campus 78, Norman Thomas 73: Michael Mercado scored 29 points and Rahlek Smith added 18 for Grand Street (14-2), the Brooklyn A West winner, in the PSAL Class A Showcase at Long Island City. Corey James notched 18 points for Norman Thomas, which is also 14-2.
FDA III 70, Fannie Lou Hamer 48: Martin Arzu and Michael Castillo scored 17 points apiece for Fannie Lou Hamer (15-5) in its Bronx B East regular-season finale. FDA III is 18-0 and takes on Gompers in the opening round of the Bronx borough playoffs on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Susan Wagner 80, Petrides 53: Andrey Pakholskiy scored 23 points, Tyrese Campbell tallied 11 and Ryan Bernstein 10 for Susan Wagner in the opening round of the Staten Island High School League playoffs. The sixth-seeded Falcons (9-13) meet No. 3 McKee/Staten Island Tech in the quarterfinals Sunday at 12:45 p.m. while Petrides falls to 2-20.
Moore Catholic 63, New Dorp 59, (OT): Scott Schaefer scored 18 points and John Baggs and Frank Schettino scored 13 points apiece for Moore Catholic in the opening round of the SIHSL playoffs on Friday. The 10th-seeded Mavericks (5-14) take on No. 2 Curtis in the quarterfinals Sunday at 11 a.m. Aaron Morton paced New Dorp (11-15) with 18 points.
Port Richmond 62, St. Joseph by the Sea 57: Presnell Wright scored 16 points, Brett Kramer tallied 14 and Mike McQuillen had 13 for ninth-seeded Port Richmond in the first round of the SIHSL playoffs on Friday. The Red Raiders (12-12) take on top-seeded St. Peter’s Sunday at 4:15 p.m. in the quarterfinals. Sea is 6-15.
