LAS VEGAS — Jonquel Jones said she pays no mind to the WNBA standings despite the postseason being just one month away. Her focus is on the team the Liberty are playing next.

But the Liberty are in jeopardy of potentially losing what could be a home-court advantage in the WNBA semifinals if they don’t course-correct as soon as possible.

New York (21-12) dropped to third place after Wednesday’s loss to the Aces. Going into Friday night, just 2.5 games separate the second-place team from fifth place in the standings.

Given the parity in this year’s standings and the Liberty’s inconsistent play, it’s difficult to predict where the reigning WNBA champions will finish in terms of seeding.
