Leah Covey has a message for Chiefs fans.
After posting a since-deleted TikTok video ripping the Chiefs for celebrating their Super Bowl 2023 victory over Eagles, Leah — wife of Philadelphia receiver Britain Covey — apologized on Tuesday.
In a separate video, Leah explained that she didn’t intend to cause drama with her original post, which took issue with a controversial holding call on Eagles cornerback James Bradberry that set up Kansas City’s game-winning field goal kick.
“My last post got way too much traction and got way too much attention, way more than I was expecting it to,” Covey said. “It was a moment of passion guys, you know, my husband plays, so of course it was a heartbreaking loss.
“No disrespect to the Chiefs, we definitely would’ve been celebrating too. It was just like, I don’t want to say a joke. I’m sorry if I offended anyone. That’s not what I meant.
“I have respect for all NFL players. They work so hard. So really, it’s like, any team would be deserving because I know how hard they work. I’m sure I’ll get hate for this video, but I wasn’t trying to cause drama. That’s not me and I just wanted to say sorry, and yeah that’s it.

In the post caption, Leah wrote, “This app is wild guys. Didn’t think my little following could cause such a ruckus! Congrats to the Chiefs and their families! And respectfully, go birds.”
Leah has over 8,000 followers on TikTok.

With the game tied at 35 and 1:54 remaining, the Chiefs faced a third-and-8 from the Philly 15-yard line. After Patrick Mahomes overthrew a pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster, referees threw a flag on the play, which gave the Chiefs an automatic first down, allowing them to run the clock before kicking the game-winning field goal.
“Honestly embarrassed for the Chiefs rn??” Leah wrote over an Instagram Story post after the game, which included a photo of her making a thumbs-down while the Chiefs celebrated on the field at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

“That was embarrassing,” Leah mouthed in her TikTok video while using a voiceover filter. “I really hope you’re embarrassed.”
“Watching the Chiefs celebrate their win on the field after the weakest holding call and running the game clock for the last 5 minutes,” Leah wrote over the video.
Leah and Covey are expecting a baby boy in March. The couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary last month following Philadelphia’s 31-7 win over the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
