There is the obvious that can be seen and heard and, often, felt when Cam Skattebo launches his 215-pound body at an opposing linebacker or defensive back. There is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get quality to this particular running back.

It appears there is also the unseen and unknown with Skattebo to those who are not with him every day inside the Giants facility.

John Harbaugh, the new head coach, developed an image of what he was inheriting with Skattebo, based on what he could see on tape from his 2025 season. Now that Harbaugh is in the building, he is learning so much more about a player who, along with his buddy Jaxson Dart, energized — for at least a short while — a fanbase sick and tired of losing and was delighted to feed off the energy of the two high-octane rookies.

There was an opportunity Tuesday to learn more about Skattebo, a lesson emanating out of the special teams room, of all places.
