File this one under: “So What? Who cares? Dime a Dozen. Next!”

Last week, Auburn defensive lineman, 24-year-old DeAngelo “Trill” Carter, was in a bad place at a bad time — midnight — in Charlotte, N.C., shot in the chest on a Thursday, 352 miles from his “school.”

In June, Auburn running back Brian Battie, a transfer from South Florida, was shot at 3:30 a.m. He was released from the hospital after surviving on a respirator. His brother was shot dead in the episode.

Again, outside of Battie’s kin, no big deal, not anymore, as well as the fact that Auburn, unless one excels at football or basketball, is a university that rewards high academic achievement.
