Daniel Jones isn’t done — yet.

The 27-year-old still has time to save his job, to resemble the player who led the Giants to a playoff win less than two years ago, to justify his 4-year, $160 million contract and the selection of him as the face of the franchise.

But it will not be easy for a quarterback who is 22-37-1 as a starter, who missed 21 games in his first five seasons, whose atrocious performance (186 yards passing, two interceptions) in the season-opening loss made the Vikings “feel a little bit bad” for Jones, who was received as warmly as the Eagles at MetLife Stadium.

Even if the Giants win Sunday at Washington — against a rookie quarterback making his second start and an opponent that hasn’t finished with a winning record since 2016 — the season could slip away fast. Including this weekend, the Giants are projected to be underdogs in their next seven games.
