The trade deadline came and went on Tuesday without the Yankees addressing the left field issue that has plagued them for most of the season.
The potential trade candidates ranged from rentals such as the Cubs’ Cody Bellinger and the Rockies’ Randal Grichuk to a longer-term play such as the Cardinals’ Dylan Carlson.
Bellinger and Carlson stayed put while Grichuk went to the Angels without GM Brian Cashman calling about him, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported.
For now, that leaves the Yankees sticking with a combination of Jake Bauers, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Billy McKinney in left field. Each has made quality contributions at times, with Kiner-Falefa excelling in a utility role, but the Yankees have been missing everyday consistency at the position.
