Because, thinking back to the last time that the Giants and Jets were simultaneous winners, this Jets defense plays like the Giants defense that won Super Bowls in 2007 and 2011, and this Giants defense plays like the Jets defense that went to the 2009 and 2010 AFC Championship Games.

In 2022, the surface results look similar. The Giants (6-1) are allowing 18.6 points per game and the Jets (5-2) are surrendering 19.6, which rank their defenses No. 6 and No. 10, respectively.
