Sergei Brylin scored the only goal of the shootout to give the Devils a comeback 5-4 preseason victory over the Flyers last night at the Meadowlands.

Trailing by three in the second, the Devils forced overtime on goals by Jamie Langenbrunner, his second, Scott Gomez and Mike Rupp. In the shootout, Geoff Sanderson, Jeff Carter and Peter Forsberg were unable to dent Martin Brodeur.

Sanderson connected in the first for Philly and Langenbrunner answered early in the second before Forsberg set up three consecutive Flyer goals. Mike Knuble converted a 5-on-3, and Simon Gagne scored two straight for the Flyers.
