You can gamble on just about anything and everything nowadays.

You can bet on the length of the national anthem at the Super Bowl, whether a player will hit a home run on a pitch-by-pitch basis during an at-bat, or when Travis Kelce will propose to Taylor Swift (it’s going to be Dec. 13 — the perfect birthday gift for T-Swizzle).

But just because you can gamble on something doesn’t mean you should.

Oneil Cruz is coming off his most productive season in the majors, hitting .259 with 21 homers, 76 RBIs, 72 runs, 22 stolen bases and a .773 OPS in 146 games. It was the kind of season fantasy managers had hoped for from the talented young Pirates shortstop.
