It wouldn’t have been predicted here – especially in the wake of Jio Fontan’s official departure from the team the day before – but Fordham earned interim head coach Jared Grasso his first win as a head coach with a 93-77 victory over Stony Brook.

Freshman Chris Gaston led the way with yet another double-double, as the former St. Anthony’s standout had 25 points and 11 rebounds. Brenton Butler also scored 25 points, while Alberto Estwick added 16 and Lance Brown 15.

In other news with the Rams, Grasso appointed his former head coach at Quinnipiac, Joe DeSantis, to be his assistant today. DeSantis was fired by Quinnipiac after the 2006-07 season, ending an 11-year run with the school. Grasso played there from 1998-2002.
