It is the ultimate compliment that can be bestowed on a player and especially a quarterback: winner.
Only two individuals on a football field have a win-loss record attached to their résumé: the head coach and the quarterback. Fair or not, the quarterback receives the glory in victory and the blame in defeat.
This is officially NFL draft season. It’s slightly more than two weeks until the April 25 start of the three-day extravaganza, and quarterbacks are expected to come off the board fast and furious in the first round. They have been and continue to be poked and prodded, studied on film and in person, weighed, measured, given psychological tests and assigned final grades based on copious data points.
