Adversity is a part of everyday life for all of us.

In sports, it’s a part of every team’s story at one time or another. If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard an athlete or coach talk about how they “overcame adversity” I’d own an NFL team by now.

Of course, not every obstacle is created in the same way, not every roadblock is equal.

The Giants and Raiders entered Sunday at MetLife Stadium, where the Giants would grind out a gritty 23-16 victory, both having dealt with an array of off-the-field issues during the week.
