The Giants were trailing the Rams 28-3 at the half Sunday at MetLife Stadium when I walked out to the stands to visit a friend who’d taken his family to the game.
My friend had been a longtime Giants season-ticket holder before canceling his tickets following the infamous Odell Beckham Jr. urinating-dog leg-lift sideshow in 2017.
But Sunday was a nice fall day and there was still slim hope for a respectable Giants season, so he made the trek from Connecticut with his wife and two kids to take in Rams 38, Giants 11 — a game that wasn’t even as close as the lopsided score indicated.
As we spoke, my friend didn’t seem as bothered by the Giants losing as much as how they were losing.
