The grand plan, which seemed as if it could go sideways, stayed directly on course. The four inhabitants of a quarterback room assembled by the Giants all passed Chemistry 101 with honors. What at first seemed like a combustible cast of characters with a risk of a strained personality mix quickly evolved into a copacetic environment.

This brainchild of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll attracted all sorts of derision from outside the building. Granted, it is quite a collection. Sign veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston — there’s a whole lot to unpack with both of these guys — select Jaxson Dart in the first round of the draft and unload those three newcomers into a setting that included one holdover, Tommy DeVito. Combine all those ingredients, shake well and serve.

This foursome enjoyed each other’s company during training camp and, by all accounts, it turned out to be a supportive, agreeable and at times amusing (thanks, Jameis) NFL indoctrination for Dart.
