GM’S AIDE NAMED
The Yankees have hired Jean Afterman to replace Kim Ng as GM Brian Cashman’s assistant, The Post has learned.
Afterman, 41, comes to the Yankees with impressive credentials.
She has a law degree from the University of San Francisco, is a certified agent and has strong ties to the Players Association.
As a consultant to agent Don Nomura, she played a huge part in securing Hideki Irabu a $12.8 million contract from the Yankees in 1997.
Afterman replaces the highly respected Ng, who left in November after four years as Cashman’s assistant.
