There’s a now famous clip from HBO’s offseason edition of “Hard Knocks” in which New York Giants owner John Mara is speaking with general manager Joe Schoen about Saquon Barkley’s free-agent market, which included the rival Philadelphia Eagles.

“I’ll have a tough time sleeping if Saquon goes to Philadelphia,” Mara said.

The rest, as they say, is history. Barkley did go to the Eagles, where he’s an MVP candidate and coming off a game in which he put up 302 total yards.

So what does this have to do with the Yankees?
