When the Nets signed DeAndre Jordan in 2019 as part of a package deal with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, it was seen as thecost of doing business. His bloated four-year, $40 million contract was viewed as the vig on building a Brooklyn superteam – and Jordan was reportedly untouchable because of it.
Turns out the reports were wrong.
Nets general manager Sean Marks traded him last week. Among other reasons, Jordan was an untenable fit on defense next to James Harden, who didn’t share the same allegiance to Jordan as did the Nets’ other headliners.
