As a power forward, Dorian Finney-Smith is undersized. As a center, which he’s been forced to play early on this season due to injuries, he’s downright Hobbit-esque.
But that hasn’t stopped the Nets’ smallball five from bouncing back big.
Almost from the moment starting center Nic Claxton sprained his ankle in the opening-night loss to the Cavaliers, teams have tried to test the Nets in the paint. And Finney-Smith has answered those questions with the same aplomb as when teammate Dennis Smith Jr. crashed a recent interview.
“Being a smaller guy, we know a lot of teams are going to come out and try to punk you,” Smith asked with mock seriousness, “so how do you respond to people trying to punk you?”
