Is this the same Mets offense we were seeing before the All-Star break?
The Mets, in their Grimace era, were the best team in baseball for the month of June and went on a 21-9 run before the break.
Prior to the Midsummer Classic, the Mets were averaging 4.89 runs per game, good for fifth in MLB, including 5.92 runs per game since the start of June.
The Mets have emerged from the All-Star break with a 10-7 record and a downturn to 4.59 runs per game in that span, following Monday’s 6-0 win over the Cardinals.
