When Isabelle Shee joined forces with her younger sister Kat on social media roughly two years ago, the longtime golf influencer had a specific mantra in mind.
“I’ve personally always been a fan and a believer of going faster alone and further together, and what better person to work with than with your best friend and sibling,” Isabelle recently told The Post of the “Shee Sisters,” who boast more than 550,000 followers collectively across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Together, Kat and Isabelle — who earned the “Sock Girl” moniker years prior, thanks in part to her knee-high accessories — regularly share photos and videos of themselves on the course, hanging out with friends, or striking a pose in their bold and bright fashions, among the other playful musings featured in their posts.
Kat and Isabelle Shee make up the “Shee Sisters” duo, which boasts a massive social media following. Instagram“I feel like it’s pretty surreal sometimes,” Kat said of collaborating with Isabelle. “Growing up, we used to always spend so much time together on and off the golf course, but were always really close and we moved around a lot, so, it’s really great to get to work together now.”
Both Isabelle, 27, and Kat, 24, played collegiate golf. Isabelle at UNLV and Kat at St. John’s University and still compete in tournaments today. The siblings believe their bonafides in the sport are just one of the factors that help separate them in the ever-growing field of golf influencers.
“I think we’re a little bit different, or we stand out in our own way for a couple of reasons,” Isabelle said. “I think there’s a sibling dynamic that people really like. And again, just power in numbers. I just think that because we are sisters and we both golf, it’s just different and I think that’s one reason why we stand out.
Both Kat and Isabelle Shee played golf at the collegiate level and joined forces on social media two years ago. Instagram“A second reason, I think is because we do come from a competitive golf background. Sometimes golf influencers, they don’t have actual competitive experience, but because we did have that — we played competitive golf for about 10 years, went to D1 collegiate golf schools, and played some mini tour events after,” she continued.
For Isabelle and Kat, who are behind the sustainable sock line, Inside Story, the ultimate goal is to “create a brand bigger than” themselves.
“In a way, we are content creators, but not in the traditional sense you would think,” Isabelle explained. “Social media, in terms of brand partnerships, it’s not our main source of income. But really, our main motive for growing a following and a platform is really to market our own products and create a brand bigger than ourselves.”
In addition to posting content from the golf course, the Shee sisters also show off their favorite fashions on social media. InstagramIn fact, the Shee sisters are hopeful to expand their horizons further in the style sector.
“We definitely want to create our own clothing line in the near future, something we’re working on right now,” Kat said.
“Every time we’ve gotten clothes, to be honest, we’ve hemmed them, or we’ll glue things on it, we’ll just really make it our own and we’re a little bit more flashy and we like sparkly things and pink, and all one color,” Isabelle added.
Beyond fashion, the Shee sisters are continuing to make an impact in the content creation space, lauding the sense of solidarity within the influencer community.
Kat and Isabelle Shee have also tag-teamed on the sustainable accessories brand, Inside Story. Instagram
Isabelle and Kat Shee are looking to expand their horizons further into fashion. Instagram“Even though I feel like golf is pretty individual, being in the content creating space, people are always very supportive and they’re willing to collaborate and it’s just really fun being in the same space as other people that have the same goals and they’re very relatable to you,” Kat said.
As for Isabelle, she believes the presence of content creators will only further golf’s reach.
“Honestly, the more golf influencers and content creators that come out, the more the sport grows overall,” she said.
