Mike Sarbaugh spent 34 seasons in the Guardians organization, the past 11 as the third base/infield coach on manager Terry Francona’s staff.

The 56-year-old Sarbaugh was hired in the same capacity by the Mets in November to replace Joey Cora, who joined the Tigers’ coaching staff.

Sarbaugh spoke with Post Sports+ this week about his new job.

Was there any connection you had with the Mets that helped get you hired?
