Perhaps it was that expectations were heightened after last season’s fourth-place finish in the East, but the Knicks’ 12-13 start was feeling … not great.

So what do the Knicks need to do to get out of the lottery and back into playoff position? The lineup tweaks have commenced: Kemba Walker was dropped from the rotation, Nerlens Noel replaced Mitchell Robinson at starting center. What else should they do? Is a more drastic roster shakeup required? A big-swing trade? Or does Tom Thibodeau need to adjust his schemes to arrest their slide from the fourth-best defense in 2020-21 to 25th in the league through 25 games?
