There is always a period of mourning when an NFL player goes down for the season — the expressing of emotions over what the young man is going through. Then there are the details — the type of injury, what surgery is best, how long of a recovery.
Finally, there is the need to figure out his replacement.
The Giants again have had to cycle through this process, this time with Andrew Thomas’ season-ending foot injury.
After Brian Daboll recently praised Thomas as a person before he delved into what his loss as the starting left tackle meant to the team, the Giants head coach began going through the options available on the roster.
