The self-proclaimed “King of All Media” has one rule when it comes to going to Knicks games.
Howard Stern has to be in the front row, otherwise, he’s not going.
The shock jock has never been a big sports fan, but he does have a soft spot for the Knicks, and he stayed up to late hour of 8 p.m to watch the first half of Game 4 on Monday.

The SiriusXM Radio host explained on his show that where celebs are seated at Madison Square Garden is based on your status in the entertainment industry.
“You can tell your place in show business by where they place you at the Knick game. The day they put me in the second row, I quit. Because I consider myself a first-row type person,” Stern said on his show, according to Awful Announcing. “I’m very aware of where they seat me and it’s very important to me. If they said to me, ‘Look, you’re not gonna be in the first row,’ I’d turn around and leave, it would be embarrassing to me.”
The Knicks are one win away from reaching the Eastern Conference Finals, a feat they haven’t accomplished since 2000.

And after that, a trip to the NBA Finals could be in their future.

“I have tremendous interest, but I wouldn’t go. I’m very self-conscious. I wait for them to invite me,” Stern said. “I don’t want to take advantage and I know everyone comes out of the woodwork for the Finals, I don’t want to be that guy. I prefer when the Knicks are dead last, then I don’t feel guilty taking the tickets because nobody wants to go.”
Game 6 between the Knicks and Celtics is Friday night at MSG.
