Howie Singer was in his early 20s, not far removed from graduating from UMass, when he simultaneously accepted his first job with MSG Network and needed a day off.

The reason was a concert by The Who at Shea Stadium and he already had tickets. If you get to know Singer, you’ll quickly understand his passion for music and concerts.

His boss “begrudgingly” agreed to grant the day off but, as a form of punishment for the audacity, assigned Singer to 35 consecutive days of writing out the schedule. Today, Singer recalls a colleague saying, “He’s not going to last long.”

Well, that was a gross underestimation of Howie Singer.
