Trevor Lawrence entered the NFL in the same rarefied air as fellow No. 1 overall draft picks John Elway, Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.

Five years into his career with the Jaguars, Lawrence has the same quarterback rating (84.5) as Sam Bradford, the same completion percentage (62.8) as Carson Wentz and a similar winning percentage (.388) to Tim Couch — not the ideal former top picks with whom to share history.

“I think he was developed so well in college that he just topped out,” ESPN NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller said. “If you remember that Clemson-Ohio State game [in 2019] where it was like, ‘Holy!’ — he’s not much better now than he was then. And he hasn’t had any stability at all. It’s on both him and the Jaguars to some degree.”

Lawrence, 26, isn’t a “draft bust” in the truest sense of the phrase.
