SAN ANTONIO — In feet and inches, Jalen Brunson is shorter than 95% of the NBA. In heart and determination, he’s a damn titan.

Forever.

Brunson finished off the greatest accomplishment of his underdog career with a performance of the ages, a 45-point Picasso to win the championship few outside himself believed possible.

The Knicks needed every bit of his masterpiece in Saturday’s 94-90 Game 5 victory, requiring a comeback from 16 down to end New York’s 53-year championship drought. It was a defensive battle, a low-scoring and physical affair reminiscent of those 1990s Knicks who captivated our attention but could never reach the pinnacle that Brunson climbed Saturday.
