TRENTON– Locals swept the annual MAAC awards ceremony. Manhattan’s Bobby Gonzalez was named Coach of the Year and junior guard Luis Flores was named Player of the Year.

Gonzalez led the Jaspers to a 21-6 record, with victories over Seton Hall and St. John’s, and a 15-game winning streak that was tops in the country at the time. Flores averaged 24.7 ppg, sixth in the country.
