Speculation that John Davidson might shortly follow Marv Albert out of MSG Network’s door is over. Davidson has agreed to a new deal with MSG, one that this season – should there be an NHL season – will see him work Ranger telecasts for an 18th consecutive year.

On-air, Davidson, 51, has generally seen the hopeful signs in the Rangers despite the fact that they haven’t made the playoffs in seven consecutive years.
