The Jets are one week into training camp, and though it is too early to draw any conclusions from their practices, that won’t stop us from making some observations.
Here are some takeaways from the early portion of camp:
1. Everyone wants to know how second-year quarterback Zach Wilson looks. It’s been hard to get a definitive read on him. He has been up and down. You would like to see more consistency from him in practice, but it has not happened.
His practices are not all that different from some of his games last year. He almost always makes one throw that makes you say, “Wow.” But when it comes to the short passes, he often makes you say, “Ugh.”
